Nick Pratt - Black Adam - check it out!

Got an email from my homie, this is what it said:

What up homie..actually droppin a video in association with Jenesis magazine for my homie Nick Pratt tomorrow. Wanted to see if I could take you up on putting it on your site. I'll send you the youtube link tomorrow morning, but lemme know what you think.

We shot the video at like 2am one Saturday randomly when Nick was in LA for the Global Coolin' show on April 24, 2010. We had no script, no outline, no permits, just straight up asked the owner if we could use his restaurant and the rest is history.

Who's the BIGGEST Souls Of Mischief fan?

That's right NEW Souls Of Mischief! As I'm writing this I'm looking at the artwork and thinking about how sick this album is going to be! These dudes were around before I was born and although I might be young, I do appreciate the music that the crew have made I'm more excited to see the release of a new Souls Of Mischief album than say, a new Lil' Wayne album (props to Lil' Wayne who's rocking London right now with Kid Cudi).

My older readers might say something like, "You don't know about these guys, how can you be a fan" I'll tell you. I'm a fan because I listen to REAL Hip-Hop, to me this represents what Hip-Hop is all about.

Good lyrics, a sense of fun and enjoyment making the music and producing a track that will STILL get even the most hardcore Gangster-rap fan nod their heads.

Tracklisting:

1. Intro

2. Won!

3. Postal

4. Tour Stories

5. Skit

6. Proper Aim

7. You Got It

8. Hiero HQ

9. Poets Skit

10. Poets

11. Mr Freeman Skit

12. Fourmation

13. Dead Man Walkin

14. For Real Y'all

15. Lickity Split

Nappy Roots drop new single -"Down 'N Out"!

NAPPY ROOTS RELEASED 2ND SINGLE "DOWN 'N OUT" FT. ANTHONY HAMILTON

Nappy Roots ft. Anthony Hamilton - Down 'N Out
www.zshare.net/audio/62478351ae4a3def

We don't know if the phrase "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" has its origins in Kentucky, but what we do know is that rap superstars Nappy Roots apply it regularly. It was a little known group of rappers from Kentucky and a rough around the edges crooner from North Carolina who took the rap game by storm in 2002 when Nappy teamed up with now R&B superstar Anthony Hamilton to introduce the world to hip-hop from a Nappy perspective. That song, "Po' Folks" went on to become a smash hit and delivered Nappy Roots a platinum album for their freshman endeavour, the highly acclaimed "Watermelon, Chicken, and Grits" which also garnered the gang a pair of Grammy nominations.

What better way to follow up a smash hit than with another smash hit. "After seeing the response we got from the world, and the way our fans were able to relate to 'Po' Folks', it only made sense to reconnect with A. Ham for 'Sick 'N Tired'," says Skinny Deville, the self proclaimed Blues Traveler and Captain of the Nappy movement. Once again, the formula worked and Nappy Roots and Anthony Hamilton earned a gold album with "Wooden Leather", Nappy Roots' second and final album on Atlantic Records.

Fast forward 5 years... a new album, a new label, and a new sense of connection to their millions of fans, the Kentucky quintet returns with "The Humdinger", released on their own imprint Nappy Roots Entertainment Group, distributed by Fontana/Universal Music Group. Despite all that is new, there remains one constant, Anthony Hamilton returns to the fold once more to round out the collaborative trilogy with Nappy's second single "Down 'N Out".

Ms Stylez & Bullet Present - Home Alone Mixtape!

BULLET LINKS WITH MS STYLEZ FOR HOME ALONE MIXTAPE

Chicago lyricist Bullet has joined forces with Sirius XM Shade 45 DJ Mz Stylez for his Summer mixtape smash HOME ALONE. Featuring production from Cool Kids Chuck Inglish, Christian Rich and Slot-A, Bullet once again reaffirms his place in the Hip-Hop hierarchy with this 16 track opus. After releasing his recent single Mr Robotic, fans have been eagerly waiting the release of HOME ALONE which within an hour of its release had secured over 1,000 downloads.

Opening the ears of folks all over the world Bullet, with his constant barrage of free downloads and random freestyles, continues to develop undying support through social networking sites such as Twitter and Myspace. Sponsored by ThatsHipHop.com, SimplyStylez.com and Sirius XM, it is apparent that HOME ALONE is a project to satiate the appetites of fans while Bullet preps his Mr Robotic EP which is slated for release later this year.

"The way this project came together was perfect timing! I had a bunch of records sitting on my laptop and i went back to a bunch of sites and blogs that had my records posted and i figured hey why not just put these together along with some new songs and make a tape," the self proclaimed martian explains. "Having Mz.Stylez a part of the project was awesome because she doesn't get behind just anything. This is my second free project which I worked on to maintain the attention of all the fans and I am hoping that they enjoy it as much as we did making it."

"It was an ill experience working with Bullet, the energy was ridiculous, the music refreshing, a definite good look." - Ms. Stylez

The Physics Drop - High Society EP!

Two years after the release of their critically lauded full length debut, Future Talk, Seattle-based hip hop group The Physics are back with June 2009’s release of High Society, an eight track EP of new material representing a natural progression both musically and personally. Steeped heavily in references to jazz and soul, Just D’Amato’s production (alongside Phee Dill & Dyalect) provides the smoothed-out backdrop against which lyricists Thig Natural and Monk Wordsmith (absent from Future Talk but a notable presence here) do their thing and do it with skill. Featuring guest appearances by beastly Seattle MCs Language Arts (“Back Track”) and Macklemore (“Good”) as well as one of the year’s most buzzed about local duos, the fresh-as-all-hell females of Thee Satisfaction (“Radio Head”), High Society dims the lights on the laidback aesthetic established in Future Talk and invites the listener to get real grown—and enjoy it. While this EP may feel like a main course, don’t get it twisted: it’s merely just a taste of what’s to come, a prelude to an additional as-yet-untitled release slated for later in the summer.
